SACC has six core values that guide our church family in serving the community of Albany and the world. These values answer the question of why we do what we do.

What we believe

Reaching Others

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - Matthew 28:19-20

God made it very clear that followers of Jesus have a responsibility to share the gospel with those they encounter in this world. We desire to reach Albany for Jesus. Reaching Others is a value we put into practice as we strive to fulfill God’s commission on our lives.

Biblical authority

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." - 2 Timothy 3:15-17

We believe that the Bible is God’s perfect source for understanding God. We believe that God supernaturally guided those who penned the words to give us a precious document without error and therefore providing truth that we should allow to guide us in action and word. Having faith in the Bible’s authenticity and accuracy enables us to allow ourselves to be transformed by God’s word.

celebrating jesus

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." - Hebrews 12:12

It’s only because of what Jesus did on the cross and his following resurrection do we have hope of eternal life. Coming to a mature understanding of this extension of grace is vital to an intimate relationship with your God.

spiritual friendships

"All the believers were together and had everything in common.  Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.  Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." - Acts 2:43-47

It’s in relationship where we find encouragement and challenges. When the church models for the world healthy loving relationship in godly marriages as well and dynamic friendships and body unity we become a powerful force for Jesus.

loving god

We find our love directed to many things. We love our family, we love other people in our circle, we love our hobbies and leisure and the list can go on and on. The big question is: where does your love for God fit in? Many will state that God is at the top of their list but is that demonstrated in day to day living? The Core classes under this heading are designed to ignite or reignite your love for God and place Him at the top of your list where He belongs.

meaningful service

Throughout the year SACC has multiple opportunities to serve both globally and locally. We don’t serve just to serve but we serve in Jesus’ name. It is through our loving service that others will want to know more about the God we serve.
